Hello. I’m Stephan, and I’m a trauma-informed, relational psychotherapist based in San Francisco.

I help people who struggle with depression, anxiety and relationship issues by helping them understand and work with their underlying patterns, so that they can reconnect with their true selves.

I particularly enjoy working with people in the technology and design industries; as well as people from multicultural or international backgrounds.

Returning Home

As we move through life, there are times our journey can leave us feeling lost and disconnected from our true sense of self. Without a sense of direction, we can become isolated, depressed, anxious, or feel as if life has lost a sense of meaning.

In therapy, we’ll work together to figure out how you got to where you are, and where you want to get to.
With a deeper understanding of yourself, you can begin to chart a new path that returns you home to an authentic connection with yourself and the world.

Depression & Anxiety

The trials of everyday life can leave us suffering, at times very deeply. By bringing compassion and understanding to your suffering, I can help you relieve some of the burden, and understand the underlying causes of depression or anxiety.

Part of my work is to give you tools that will not only support you, but enable your own deeper healing.

Life Transitions

A career switch, the end of a relationship, or a move can leave us feeling a lost and destabilized at the very time that we face a variety of new challenges.

By helping you face your new challenges and relying on your natural resilience, I can help you cope with changes in your life.

Grief

I believe that grief is a necessary part of the human experience, and that it is on our journeys with grief that we learn to love life more fully.

By helping you to process your loss, I hope to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and a way forward that integrates and honors what you have lost.

Relationships

Being in a close relationship with someone else can highlight our rough edges, and bring us into conflict with our partner.

I can help you understand patterns of conflict, so that each person can identify and clearly communicate their needs, and break the cycle of conflict.

Multicultural Identities

Our ties to our culture or country of origin are an integral part of who we are, yet we often adapt, hide or lose these cultural connections to integrate into American culture.

I enjoy working with people from different cultural backgrounds to uncover and integrate the parts of our identity that have been left out or left behind.
