My Practice
How I work
I offer a calm and grounding space where your experience is held with compassion, warmth, and understanding. In addition to the depth of the work, I also believe that lightness and humor is an important part of the healing process, and a key aspect of the human experience.
As well as a background in classical psychotherapy, I incorporate influences from neuroscience, attachment theory, and somatic psychotherapy to help inform the process understanding of who you are.
My goal for my clients is to enable their own insight and growth, so that they can build a deeper understanding of themselves, stronger relationships, and ultimately, a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment in life.
Tools and Approaches
I have a variety of different tools and approaches that we can use together to help you on your journey, including:
Somatic Therapy
Difficult experiences can stay stuck in our bodies, causing us emotional distress. By learning to listen to and understand our bodies, we can learn to relate more fully to our emotions, allowing our experience to move through us, so that we can inhabit our full selves once again.
Hakomi
Hakomi is a gentle but powerful way of exploring your experience that uses mindfulness and somatic awareness to access and bring change to parts of you that are difficult to reach through talk therapy alone. I am a Hakomi-informed therapist.
Attachment Theory
Understanding our attachment style – how we have been conditioned to give and receive love – can help us understand how and why we struggle in relationships, and provide us a roadmap to loving and fulfilling relationships.
Mindfulness & Meditation
By building the capacity for mindful awareness, we can better recognize, tolerate, and become disentangled from our emotions.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Understanding ourselves as containing different ‘parts’ allows us to relate directly to different aspects of ourselves, and allows us to discover our true selves amongst the parts. I am an IFS-informed therapist.
